I found a song I wrote a long while ago, and I've been playing it today. Or at least attempting to, seeing as I've forgotten parts of it >_> <_<
I managed to get a good night's sleep last night, only to wake up and have not enough coffee left. Stupid lack of coffee. Shouldn't have put so much sugar in my weakened coffee...
And now, I rant. The 80's are coming back. I don't know why, but I do know that I don't really like it. I mean... first it was Popples. They were the first thing to come back... Then new Transformers anime, that took the good Transformers name and dragged it through the dirt. Now even more stuff has come back, including Strawberry Shortcake and He-man. What's next, corporate pigs? GI Joe? Or maybe a GI Joe anime? With Storm Shadow and Quick Kick as the main characters. Christ. Hell, even Kinnikuman came back. That's "Ultimate Muscle".. remember, those little 2-inch hard plastic figurines? "M.U.S.C.L.E." God, even though it was a stupid name, they were fun.
It's times like these that I dislike corporate America. These are supposed to be my memories. The entire 80's generation's memories. Now some snotty, bratty, spoiled late 90's kids are going to be parading around falsifying our memories with this new trash. When the 80's generation hits their 40's or so, and start reminiscing about Transformers or He-man or what-have-you, the late 90's kids may overhear us, and start trying to follow the conversation, only to become confused because they don't remember anything we're talking about. "Remember Moss Man?" we might ask, "His amazing power was pine-scented freshness! The R&D folks at Mattel must've been braindead that day." Then a late 90's kid will pipe up and say, "Moss Man? That's not a He-man character. What are you talking about?" Or perhaps we will be talking about Transformers, and one of the late 90's kids will ask, "Remember when Starscream was going after a mini-con to try and usurp Megatron?" To which we would reply "Mini-cons? Good God, those things were stupid. I remember when the original Starscream would just use his mind to attempt to outwit Megatron, not get some stupid miniscule Transformer to give him new powers."
Screw you, corporate America. Leave our memories alone. And you too, corporate Japan.
